I apologize to all the regulars. I haven't introduced myself properly in the open. I frequent a few boards; give advice that's a hybrid of Bill Bauers, and Flying/Dr.Tax etc... While the three of us have different experience and thusly, different advice, we still have the same basic ideology when it comes to CA's, Credit Repair, and handling scum collectors. I will say that not all collectors are scum...I have a Hannity/Colmes relationship with a few - (I'm Hannity). I fight the fight over at CI.com for all of you here. I also operate out of my3cents.com. All under the same handle...unlike a lot of collectors and consumers alike. While Flying is a master of pro se law, and Creditwrench is a master of pro se law and the system as a whole (He's an elder to be respected and admired), I humbly bow to both of them. I prefer to attempt to analyze our foe-like brethren on the psychological level. (can anyone say...CA =Narcisists?) It's the aspect of the industry that seemed to be missing from the shrewd advice already present. That's not to say I don't know the the FDCPA backward and forward...I do...as all responsible providors should. Anyway...my endorsements for Creditwrench, Flying, and the irrepressable Lizardking are adamant. Anyway - just wanted to take the opportunity to say hello to all - in an environment such as this, trust has to be earned. I hope to earn that from all of you here. AoC get's bashed by the CI.com folks - but don't let your egos prevent you from learning from them. They're giving free info away...and while their opinions of everyone on this board may be negative, or sanctimonious...that doesn't seem to stop them from divulging the basics of how a CA runs, gets business, determines the economics of collections, and the attitude of collectors in general. Remember not to assume too much, but also...not too be to careful.

Take care, friends! Mad Eye

Here is another one from Art of Credit. This poster busted their little bubble real good. Its a wonder they haven't deleted this post long ago.

My opinion: It's an overpriced product, based on an obvious misunderstanding of the law, written by a lawyer-wannabe pretending to be a consumer advocate, and offering absolutely nothing you can't do by yourself with minimal research.

There is a person posting on collectionindustry.com and on creditnet who calls herself kaykay29 and runs a collection agency of her own and has an attorney for a boyfriend. One of Bill's students filed a $100,000 lawsuit on her boyfriend lawyer, won that and then turned around and filed another on him for the same amount. Creditwrench has many who have filed and won that much and more and many more that have filed for anything from small claims to federal cases and won.

Yet you claim you can do that with minimal research?

Also, we're supposed to accept these facts on whose say so?I'm the one who filed that lawsuit on KK's boyfriend lawyer and won it and I've got another one filed on him for the same amount. I've gotten 4 judgments vacated and then sued the CAs for those and won those too. Wasn't that much money though. I had 32 bad marks on my credit reports before I signed up with creditwrench and that was the best money I ever spent. One thing you did get right.
